Caltrain F40 909 makes a stop at the Sunnyvale station June 24, 1994 with a Soccer Cup special made up of Daylight and Harriman coaches.

(above) The new station is nearing completion on March 11, 2003, leaving just a few more days more for Caltrain's new Baby Bullet cars to stop at the old depot.

(right) On March 8, 2003, a week before demolition, the station sits strips of its shingles and stucco under the gaze of another relic from Sunnyvale's past, the Libby Cannery water tower. The tower has been preserved and painted like a giant can of fruit cocktail.

(Left) In 1982 The Sunnyvale depot still had two decades of service life ahead of it as an evening SP "plug" pauses to disgorge passengers on April 23.

Taped to the station's platform door was a notice regarding upcoming Medfly spraying activities.(Ken Rattenne Photo)
