33. William⁵ Andrews (William⁴, John³, Abraham² Andrus, Francis¹) was born in Farmington, Hartford, CT 5 April 1745. William died 7 December 1817 in Thomaston, Hartford, CT, at 72 years of age. His body was interred in Hillside Cmtry, Thomaston, Litchfield, CT.

He married Submit Frost 6 May 1766 in Simsbury, Hartford, CT. Submit was born 24 March 1745 in Waterbury, New Haven, CT. Submit was the daughter of Samuel Frost and Naomi Fenn. Submit died 20 February 1817 in Thomaston, Litchfield, CT, at 71 years of age. William joined Putnam's Army in 1767 and went to Sandusky, Ohio in the French and Indian War. on May 4, 1775, he enlisted as a private in the 7th Co., 2nd Regt., Simsbury, CT State Militia under Gen. Spencer. He once again joined the Army as an Ensign in Cpt. Smith's company on 15 April, 1776 and fought at Burnetsfield (German Flatts). He was commissioned a Lieutenant in the 8th Connecticut Regiment on August 28, 1777 and fought at the battle of Germantown on October 4, 1777 and wintered at Valley Forge. He resigned on March 21, 1778. An account of his military service can be found in the diary Private Yankee Doodle, by George F. Scheer. William is buried in Thomaston, CT. The cemetery was relocated in 1882 to Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston. The Thomaston Opera house is built on the site of the old Cemetery.

William Andrews and Submit Frost had the following children:

38 i. Elizabeth⁶ Andrews was born in Waterbury, New Haven, CT 11 February 1767. She married Stephen Munson. Stephen was born about 1765.

39 ii. William Andrews was born in Waterbury, New Haven, CT 13 January 1769. William died 14 January 1769 at less than one year of age. His body was interred in Westbury, CT.

40 iii. Luther Andrews was born in Waterbury, New Haven, CT 2 July 1770. Luther died 6 October 1773 at 3 years of age. His body was interred in Westbury, CT.

41 iv. Filo Andrews was born in Waterbury, New Haven, CT 3 February 1773.

+ 42 v. Luther Andrews was born 13 April 1775.

43 vi. Cornelius Andrews was born in Waterbury, New Haven, CT 1776.

44 vii. Anna Andrews was born in Waterbury, New Haven, CT 1 September 1777. She married Obedience Alcott. Obedience was born about 1775.

+ 45 viii. Laura Andrews was born 1790.
