448. Philip6 Beach (Gershom5, Gershom4, Thomas3, John2, 1 Unknown) was born in Rutland, Vermont 1772. Philip died 1 August 1840 in Cambria, New York, at 68 years of age.

He married Lois Cushman. Lois died 28 March 1842 in Cambria, New York. He was an early settler in the Genesee country of western New York and is frequently mentioned in the old local histories of the area. Several entries concerning him appear in O. Turner, HISTORY OF THE PIONEER SETTLEMENT OF PHELPS & GORHAMS PURCHASE, 1851.

Philip Beach and Lois Cushman had the following children:

child 908 iii. Harvey Beach.

child 909 iv. Gershom Beach. Some claim he died young, but Alfred H. Beach, editor of the BEACH FAMILY MAGAZINE and a distant cousin of this man, believed he survived to adulthood and was the one who applied for a pension based on service in the War of 1812.
