239. Robert7 Calton (Thomas8) was born in Scotland October 1800. Robert died 16 March 1877 in Govan Poor House, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland, at 76 years of age. According to the 1871 Census, he was born in Kirkton, Dumfries, and was currently employed as a Rocking Horse Maker. His daughter Helen [Ellen?] was living with him at the time, aged 24, born in London. In the 1841 census for Surrey, Lambeth, Kennington Green, Robert and Mary appear with their four oldest daughters, and also have living with them: Robert Henderson, aged 15, born in Scotland; Alexander McKenzie, aged 15, born in Scotland: and Agnes Calton, aged 14, born in Scotland.

He married Mary MacKenzie 1833/1834. Mary was born 16 November 1811 in Dumfrieshire, Dumfrieshire, Scotland. Mary was the daughter of James MacKenzie and Jean Harris. Mary died 11 June 1891 in Govan, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland, at 79 years of age.

child 240 i. Eliza6 Calton was born in London, London, England 29 December 1834. Eliza died unmarried 13 October 1857 in Glasgow, Scotland.

child 241 ii. Mary Calton was born in London, London, England 29 April 1835.

child 242 iii. Ann Calton was born in London, London, England 5 May 1838.

child 243 iv. Jane Calton was born in London, London, England 4 November 1839.

child 244 v. Ellen Calton was born in London, London, England 8 August 1841.

child + 118 vi. Margaret Calton was born 14 March 1844.

child 245 vii. Marion Calton was born in London, London, England 12 February 1847. She married Alexander Murdock 16 September 1867 in Hutchestown, Glasgow, Scotland. Alexander was born in 1843 in Scotland to James and Rebecca (McGreagor) Murdock. Alexander was an Engine Fitter at the time of his marriage. According to family legend, he became a famous violinist.

child 246 viii. James Calton was born in South Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland 1 June 1850.

child 247 ix. Thomas Calton was born in Scotland 13 November 1852. Thomas died young.
