He married Jane Tankard 22 April 1739 in Parish Church, Bradford, Yorkshire, England. Jane was born about 1718 in Great Horton, Bradford, Yorkshire, England. Her body was interred 27 February 1763 in Gt. Hornton, Bradford, Yorkshire, England.

John Bennett and Jane Tankard had the following children:

1124 i. Mary⁹ Bennett was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England 29 July 1744.

1125 ii. Rose Bennett was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England 20 August 1746.

+ 702 iii. Hannah Bennett was born 12 July 1747.

1126 iv. Hopewell Bennett was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England 18 September 1748.

1127 v. Richard Bennett was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England 5 May 1751.
