1405. Samuel¹¹ Hough (William¹², Edward¹³) was born in New London, New London, CT 9 March 1652. Samuel died 14 March 1717 in Wallingford, New Haven, CT, at 65 years of age. His body was interred 17 March 1718.

He married four times. He married Hannah Orvis about 1676. He married Susanna Wrotham 25 November 1679 in New London, CT. He married Susanna Otham about 25 November 1679. He married Mary Bates 18 August 1685 in Saybrook, Middx., Conn. Mary was born 11 March 1666 in Haddam, Middlesex, CT. Mary was the daughter of James Bate and Ann Withington.

Samuel Hough and Mary Bates had the following children:

1406 i. Hannah¹⁰ Bate was born about 1686.

+ 885 ii. James Hough was born 15 December 1688.

1407 iii. Hannah Hough was born in Wallingford, New Haven, CT 8 November 1691. She married John Lathrop.
