740. John⁹ Smith (John¹⁰) was born in Braintree, Norfolk, MA 17 June 1722. John died 30 January 1790 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA, at 67 years of age.

He married Mary Hanmer 5 October 1749 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA. Mary was born about 1725. Mary was the daughter of John Hanmer. Mary died 3 April 1779 in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA, at 53 years of age. John was with General Winslow in dispersing the Neutral French in 1755 at Nova Scotia.

John Smith and Mary Hanmer had the following children:

741 i. Elizabeth⁸ Smith was born in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA 1750.

742 ii. William Smith was born in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA 1753.

743 iii. John Smith was born in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA 1755. John died 1777 at 22 years of age. He married Hannah Edson 1805. Hannah was born about 1760 in MA.

744 iv. Mary Smith was born in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA 1757. Mary died 1778 in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA, at 21 years of age.

745 v. Daniel Smith was born in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA 1761.

746 vi. Sarah Smith was born in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA 1763.

747 vii. Dorcas Smith was born in East Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA 1765.

+ 466 viii. Hosea Smith Sr. was born 20 March 1768.
