He married twice. He married Catherine. He married Mary Rudd in England. Mary was born about 1580 in Of Winstanley, Lancastershire, England.

Edmund Atherton and Mary Rudd had the following children:

6006 i. Henrie¹³ Atherton.

6007 ii. Elizabeth Atherton.

+ 4467 iii. Humphrey Atherton was born 1607/1608.

6008 iv. James Atherton was born in Wigam, Lancs, England 1624. James died 6 August 1710 in Sherborn, Middlesex, MA, at 86 years of age. He married twice. He married Hannah. He married Hannah Atherton.
