4265. Nathaniel¹³ Wilder (Thomas¹⁴) was born in MA 1650/1655. Nathaniel died 10 August 1704 in Militia Garrison, at 53 years of age.

He married Mary Sawyer 4 November 1673 in Lancaster, Worcester, MA. Mary was born 4 November 1653 in Lancaster, Worcester, MA. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Sawyer and Mary Prescott. Mary died 1705/1707 in Lancaster, Worcester, MA, at 53 years of age. In the time of the Indian attacks upon their settlement, an Indian who had surrendered to the people, was treacherously murdered by young Nathaniel Wilder and Daniel Hoar, who were tried, condemned and sentenced to be hung. In Oct. 1676 they presented a memorial to the General Court, acknowledged the justice of thier condemnation and asking for pardon. Their request was granted, om condition that they should pay 10 pounds each, one half to be given to the Indian who had prosecuted them; and also that they should pay the expenses of their imprisonment and trial, which was done and they were set at liberty. Nathaniel was a brave man, and an active, useful citizen, a Captain in the Militia. He was killed by the Indians near the gate of his garrison on the 10th day of August, 1704, early in the morning of the first onset. He was shot in the thigh, of which he died the same day. The Indians killed off his cattle, six oxen, five cows, three calves, sixteen sheep, twelve swine, and burnt his barn and twelve loads of good English hay. Nathaniel Wilder and Mary Sawyer had the following children:

4266 i. Nathaniel¹² Wilder was born in Lancaster, Worcester, MA 1675. Nathaniel died 19 May 1679 in Sudbury, Middlesex, MA, at 3 years of age.

4267 ii. Ephraim Wilder was born 16 Apr 1679. Ephraim died 13 December 1679 in Sudbury, Middlesex, MA, at less than one year of age.

4268 iii. Mary Wilder was born in Sudbury, Middlesex, MA 12 May 1679. Mary died 1728 at 49 years of age.

4269 iv. Elizabeth Wilder was born in Sudbury, Middlesex, MA 14 February 1681.

4270 v. Jonathan Wilder was born 20 Apr 1685.

4271 vi. Dorothy Wilder was born 1686.

4272 vii. Nathaniel Wilder was born 1688.

4273 viii. Eunice Wilder was born in Lancaster, Worcester, MA 1690.

+ 2803 ix. Oliver Wilder was born 1694.
