He married Mary . Mary was born about 1700 in Ireland. Mary died about 1784 in Bedford, Hillsboro, NH, at approximately 84 years of age.

John MacLachlan and Mary had the following children:

• 2 i. Thomas² MacLachlan was born in Londonderry, Londonderry, Ireland about 1719. Thomas died about 1802 in Madison, Somerset, ME, at approximately 83 years of age. He married Margaret Ayers. Margaret was born about 1720.

• 3 ii. John MacLachlan was born in Londonderry, Londonderry, Ireland 1 June 1720. John died 28 October 1807 in Bedford, Hillsboro, NH, at 87 years of age. He married Jennet Taggart. Jennet was born about 1720.

• 4 iii. Isabella MacLachlan was born in Londonderry, Londonderry, Ireland about 1723. Isabella died 11 December 1757 in Bedford, Hillsboro, NH, at approximately 34 years of age.

• 5 iv. Rosanna MacLachlan was born in Londonderry, Londonderry, Ireland about 1726. She married William McDool. William was born about 1725 in Ireland.

• 6 v. Mary MacLachlan was born in Londonderry, Londonderry, Ireland about 1728. She married Thomas Simpson. Thomas was born about 1725 in Ireland.

• + 7 vi. James MacLachlan was born 5 July 1731.
