9. James Moss³ Openshaw (James², William¹) was born in Newport, Newport, RI 20 January 1876. James died August 1943 in Southampton, Hampshire, MA, at approximately 67 years of age. His body was interred in Newport, Newport, RI.

He married Edith Mary Nichols 6 February 1900 in New York, NY. Edith was born 15 August 1874 in London, Middlesex, England. She was the daughter of George Joseph Nichols and Ruth Blundell. Edith died 15 December 1951 in Northampton, Hampshire, MA, at 77 years of age. Her body was interred in Newport, Newport, RI.

James Moss Openshaw and Edith Mary Nichols had the following children:

• 15 i. Ruth Mary⁴ Openshaw was born in Newport, Newport, RI 15 January 1901. Ruth died November 1929 at approximately 28 years of age. She married Thomas Baird 1928. Thomas was born about 1900.

• + 16 ii. James Arnold Openshaw was born 7 September 1903.
