55. Richard¹⁴ Openshaw (Thomas¹³, John¹², James¹¹ Openshey, James¹⁰, John⁹ Opensha, James⁸ Openshowe, James⁷, Lamwell⁶ Openshall, Thomas⁵ Openshawe, John⁴ Opynscha, ...³, Richard², ¹ Opynscha of the Schae) was born in Bury, Lancashire, England 21 April 1758.

He married twice. He married Alice Hargraves in Parish Church, Bury, Lancashire, England, 28 July 1774. Alice was born 1749. Alice died 7 March 1791 at 41 years of age. He married Elizabeth Kitchen January 1796.

He was baptized in Bury, Lancashire, England, 10 May 1758. Religion: religion unknown. Richard joined a regiment of Volunteers raised by Lord Grey, was made a Sergeant, and was killed in action in Ireland. His body was found by his second wife where she was searching for him, carrying her elder child.

77 iv. Richard Openshaw was born in Bury, Lancashire, England 12 December 1780. Richard died 4 January 1783 at 2 years of age. He was baptized in Bury, Lancashire, England, 20 December 1780. Religion: religion unknown.

Richard Openshaw and Elizabeth Kitchen had the following children:

78 v. Elizabeth Openshaw was born in Lyndhurst, Hants., England 17 December 1796. Elizabeth died Before 1800.
