Richard Walker¹⁵ Openshaw (Richard¹⁴, Thomas¹³, John¹², James¹¹ Openshey, James¹⁰, John⁹ Opensha, James⁸ Openshowe, James⁷, Lamwell⁶ Openshall, Thomas⁵ Openshawe, John⁴ Opynscha, ...³, Richard², ¹ Opynscha of the Schae) was born in Newport, Isle of Wight, England 25 February 1799. Richard died 13 April 1854 at 55 years of age.

He married twice. He married Agnes Ormandy 1818. Agnes was born 1 August 1795. Agnes was the daughter of Joseph Ormandy. Agnes died 1825 at 29 years of age. Agnes was of Hallthwaites, co. Cumberland.

He married Sarah Travis 28 September 1826. Sarah was born 24 February 1798. Sarah was the daughter of John Travis. Sarah died 2 June 1874 at 76 years of age. Sarah was of Prestwich Clough, co. Lancaster.

Richard Walker Openshaw and Agnes Ormandy had the following children:

103 i. Sarah¹⁶ Openshaw was born 20 April 1819. Sarah died About 1820.

104 ii. Margaret Openshaw was born January 1821. Margaret died 1835 at 14 years of age.

105 iii. Agnes Openshaw was born 20 November 1822. Agnes died 1841 at 18 years of age.

106 iv. Elizabeth Ann Openshaw was born 18 April 1824. She married John Pennington 1853. John was of Ulverston, Lancaster.

107 v. Sarah Openshaw was born October 1825. Sarah died About 1826.

Richard Walker Openshaw and Sarah Travis had the following children:

+ 108 vi. Richard Travis Openshaw was born 8 July 1827.

109 vii. Mary Travis Openshaw was born 1 January 1829. Mary died 1829/1830 at 1 year of age.

+ 110 viii. John Openshaw was born 16 October 1830.

111 ix. Jane Openshaw was born 16 July 1832. She married Thomas Sharpe. Thomas was of Cartmel, co. Lancaster.

112 x. Thomas Openshaw was born 1835. Thomas died 1835/1836 at 1 year of age.

+ 113 xi. William Arthur Horatio Openshaw was born 1 March 1837.

114 xii. Emma Openshaw was born 2 July 1839. She married George Daniel Wilson. George was of Heaton Moor, co. Lancaster.
