Richard Travis¹⁶ Openshaw (Richard Walker¹⁵, Richard¹⁴, Thomas¹³, John¹², James¹¹ Openshey, James¹⁰, John⁹ Opensha, James⁸ Openshowe, James⁷, Lamwell⁶ Openshall, Thomas⁵ Openshawe, John⁴ Opynscha, ...³, Richard², ¹ Opynscha of the Schae) was born 8 July 1827. Richard died 22 February 1875 at 47 years of age.

He married Jane Bonner 3 February 1853. Jane was of Dudley, co. Worcester.

Richard Travis Openshaw and Jane Bonner had the following children:

159 i. Emily Delia¹⁷ Openshaw. Emily died 11 July 1889.

160 ii. Florence Annie Openshaw. She married Edward Owen. Edward was of Birnan Cottage, Formby, co. Lancaster.

161 iii. Richard Walker Bonner Openshaw was born 15 June 1854. Richard was of Park Road, Eccles, co. Lancaster.

162 iv. Ada Jane Openshaw was born About 1856. She married Frederick Shore 19 September 1882.

163 v. Edwin Bright Openshaw was born 5 April 1859. He married Beatrice Whittaker 25 April 1888. Beatrice is the daughter of Robert Selby Whittaker. Beatrice was of Pendleton, co. Lancaster. Edwin was of Winton, Eccles, co. Lancaster.
