He married Hannah Spratt. Hannah was born 1792. Hannah died 28 July 1857 at 65 years of age. John was of Rose Hill, Bury.

John Openshaw and Hannah Spratt had the following children:

88 i. Elizabeth¹⁶ Openshaw was born 1812. She married Jeremiah Waddington 7 October 1860. Jeremiah was of Manchester.

+ 89 ii. James Openshaw was born 20 April 1814.

90 iii. Mary Openshaw was born 1816. Mary died 23 July 1881 at 65 years of age. She married William Davenport. William was born 1816. William died 15 August 1863 at 47 years of age.

+ 91 iv. Thomas Openshaw was born 23 October 1818.

+ 92 v. Joshua Openshaw was born 1 October 1821.

93 vi. Jane Openshaw was born About 1823. Jane died young.

94 vii. John Openshaw was born 1824. John died 13 December 1844 at 20 years of age.

95 viii. Ormrod Openshaw was born November 1825. Ormrod died 14 February 1861 at 35 years of age. He married Fanny Diggle July 1851. Fanny was born 28 May 1822. Fanny was the daughter of Edmund Diggle. Fanny died 6 April 1885 at 62 years of age. Ormrod was of Bury. His wife Fanny was from Pimhole, Bury.

96 ix. Sarah Ann Openshaw was born 3 July 1828. She married John Hamer 18 August 1846. John was born 27 February 1824. John died 14 December 1876 at 52 years of age. John was of Peel Mount, Fernhill, Bury.

97 x. Richmal Openshaw was born 22 August 1833. She married John Battersby Crompton 4 November 1852. John was born 20 November 1826. John died 31 May 1892 at 65 years of age.
