89. James¹⁶ Openshaw (John¹⁵, John¹⁴, Thomas¹³, John¹², James¹¹ Openshey, James¹⁰, John⁹ Opensha, James⁸ Openshowe, James⁷, Lamwell⁶ Openshall, Thomas⁵ Openshawe, John⁴ Opynscha, ...³, Richard², ¹ Opynscha of the Schae) was born 20 April 1814. James died 16 November 1867 at 53 years of age.

He married Martha Ann Jackson 22 August 1837. Martha was born 20 December 1817. Martha was the daughter of John Jackson. James was of Lower Chesham, Bury.

James Openshaw and Martha Ann Jackson had the following children:

131 i. Hannah¹⁷ Openshaw was born 28 May 1838. She married John Hoyle. John was of Moss Field, Bury.

+ 132 ii. John Jackson Openshaw was born 4 January 1840.

133 iii. Margaret Openshaw was born 23 September 1841. Margaret died 6 January 1888 at 46 years of age. She married Samuel Woodstock 30 October 1867.

+ 134 iv. James Henry Openshaw was born 25 February 1844.

135 v. Martha Openshaw was born 11 December 1846. Martha died 5 January 1847 at less than one year of age.

136 vi. Martha Ann Openshaw was born 8 August 1848. Martha died 27 March 1852 at 3 years of age.

137 vii. Edward Openshaw was born 28 June 1850. Edward died 16 February 1851 at less than one year of age.

138 viii. Emma Openshaw was born 10 February 1853. She married James Strang. James was of The Peel, Busby, near Glasgow.

139 ix. Fanny Openshaw was born 25 May 1855. She married James Millership Stead 31 March 1880. James was born 28 August 1852. James was of Carr Bank, Ramsbottom, co. Lancaster.

140 x. Harold Openshaw was born 1 September 1857. Harold died 15 September 1857 at less than one year of age.
