92. Joshua¹⁶ Openshaw (John¹⁵, John¹⁴, Thomas¹³, John¹², James¹¹ Openshey, James¹⁰, John⁹ Opensha, James⁸ Openshowe, James⁷, Lamwell⁶ Openshall, Thomas⁵ Openshawe, John⁴ Opynscha, ...³, Richard², ¹ Opynscha of the Schae) was born 1 October 1821.

He married twice. He married Elizabeth Openshaw 5 December 1853. Elizabeth was born 6 March 1826. Elizabeth was the daughter of George Openshaw and Mary Suthurst. Elizabeth died 19 October 1886 at 60 years of age. He married Ann Prime 15 December 1891. Ann was the daughter of William Prime, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, and widow of John Hays, of St. Mary's Place, Bury. Issue by first wife only.

Joshua Openshaw and Elizabeth Openshaw had the following children:

149 i. Mary Ellen¹⁷ Openshaw was born 4 May 1855. Mary died 27 December 1864 at 9 years of age.

+ 150 ii. George Openshaw was born 14 November 1857.

151 iii. Eliza Ann Openshaw was born 10 October 1860.

152 iv. Elizabeth Openshaw was born 3 June 1863. She married John William Farrow Rev 30 December 1890. John was Chaplain of Swinton Industrial Schools.

153 v. Hannah Openshaw was born 5 February 1866. She married Peter Tyrer Halliwell 5 January 1892. Peter was born 12 April 1861. Peter was of Bury, A.M.S.A.
