She married Kenneth L. Nelson 25 October 1954 in Fargo, ND. Kenneth was born 26 September 1925 in Norma, ND. Shirley and Kenneth are retired and live in Everett, Washington. Kenneth was a welder and shop foreman, and Shirley was a homemaker.

Shirley Ramsdell and Kenneth L. Nelson had the following children:

+ 1835 i. Lowell Dwight¹² Nelson was born 22 June 1955.

+ 1836 ii. Alan Peter Nelson was born 2 August 1956.

+ 1837 iii. Paula Jean Nelson was born 2 November 1958.

+ 1838 iv. Kelly Aaron Nelson was born 7 March 1965.

1839 v. Donald Lee Nelson was born 8 Nov 1966. Donald died 9 Apr 1985 at 18 years of age.
