Herbert Augustus¹⁷ Wood (Herbert Morris¹⁶, Isreal¹⁵, Jebez¹⁴, Jebez¹³, Jebez¹², David¹¹, Henry¹⁰, John (Johannes)⁹ , Nicholas⁸ Atwood, John Hewson⁷, John⁶, John⁵ Atte_Wode, Peter⁴, Peter³, William², Peter¹) was born in Brattleboro, Windham, VT 17 August 1880. Herbert died 18 May 1943 in Brattleboro, Windham, VT, at 62 years of age.

He married Ella Cornelia Newcomb 24 October 1904 in Brattleboro, Windham, VT. Ella was born 6 May 1878 in Hinsdale, Cheshire, NH. She was the daughter of Samuel Rogers Newcomb and Cristine Connellia Hildreth. Ella died 5 September 1938 in Brattleboro, Windham, VT, at 60 years of age.

Herbert Augustus Wood and Ella Cornelia Newcomb had the following children:
